Jo Wolfe

Thornhill Secondary School
Mini Bio:
Jo, 17, is a graduate of Thornhill Secondary School (Thornhill, Ont.). Jo is taking first-year courses in biology, chemistry, physics, calculus, and a small-group seminar course on science and culture. She plans to specialize in either zoology or evolutionary biology with the goal of pursuing graduate studies relating to marine invertebrates, crossing disciplines such as paleontology, biomechanics, molecular evolution, and behaviour. A memorable moment from life at U of T (so far!) was attending a lecture by Zoology professor Desmond Collins on the fossils of the Burgess Shale, the single most important palaeontological discovery of the last 100 years. In her spare time Jo enjoys snorkeling and scuba diving, reading, writing, drawing, and tutoring fellow students in biology.
