Mini Bio:William, 18, graduated with an amazing 12 awards from Markham District High School in Ontario, including "Highest Academic Standing" and "Most Well-Rounded Student". A firm believer in both breadth and depth of education, William has a Grade 10 standing in piano from the Royal Conservatory of Music, and also placed 58th in the University of Waterloo's Sir Isaac Newton physics exam. In his spare time, he enjoys composing music, drawing, writing poetry, as well as learning languages: his self-study of Japanese recently culminated in his taking of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. His poetry has been published twice, and William has also competed at the provincial level in French oration. Despite his academic commitments, William continues to find time to contribute to the community, volunteering at hospitals, senior homes, as well as helping organize events for groups such as Free the Children and the Canadian Cancer Society. William's first year will be spent taking first-year courses in the sciences, math and music, with aspirations of becoming a medical doctor in the future.
